JADCO Chromeweld

When looking at JADCO or any other overlay manufacturer, there are a few things to consider that we want to point out. We assume you want to evaluate the Nickel content because of the fear of Ni sulfide inclusions, but also the wear performance in product life expectancy. When it comes to Ni, the common number that we have worked to as “Glass Industry Standard” is 0.25% Ni maximum allowable in our plate.

The other area to consider is wear performance of the overlay plate. This is the reason we conduct ASTM G65 wear tests and consistently outperform the industry in mass loss comparison. JADCO’s plate is on average 5 to 10 Brinell points higher than other manufacturers which tends to give us better wear life in most applications.

if you were using an AR500 type wear steel and the overlay plate out-performs this type of material by 3x plus wear life.

CHROMEWELD 600™

CHROMEWELD 600™ is a unique material that is ideal for surfaces requiring high levels of abrasion resistance. It is a premium grade of chromium carbide wear plate. It is produced with a mild steel base plate and hard-faced/overlayed with our proprietary CHROMEWELD 600™ wire. Regardless of whether a CHROMEWELD 600™ application requires machining, cold bending, welding, CHROMEWELD 600™ will yield outstanding results.

Plate Sizes and Thicknesses

  • Standard Plate size is 90” X 120”, Half and custom size sheets are also available
  • Standard thicknesses range from 1/8” on 1/8” (.25”) through 1/2” on 1” (1.5”).

CHROMEWELD Fusion-AP

CHROMEWELD FUSION-AP is an all-positional flux cored wire for hard facing of apparatuses ex-posed to metal to metal wear, impact and high abrasion. It has the capability to be applied in a single or multiple passes, leaving a good appearance and high-quality weld deposit. CHROMEWELD FUSION-AP is a good option when fit-up is a concern.

CHROMEWELD Flow

CHROMEWELD™ FLOW is chromium carbide overlay pipe bringing high quality, abrasion resistant pipe to the industries who need it the most. 

Cutting: Plasma burning, air arc, abrasive saw cutting, or waterjet.

Machining: The overlay surface can be finished by grinding only. EDM, plasma arc cutting, or carbon-arc gouging may produce countersunk holes for bolts. Pre-machined mild steel inserts may be welded into straight holes for additional machining. CHROMEWELD™ FLOW cannot be machined by ordinary methods.

Cold Bending: Material is not readily formable.

Welding: CHROMEWELD™ FLOW overlay pipe can be joined by welding substrate to substrate using 309 weld wire/rod. Fittings include bends, elbows, tees and reducers. All interior weld seams and all other joints exposed to wear should be protected by a cap weld of CHROMEWELD™ FUSION.
